How many true surprises do we get in life? Revealing the gender of your baby is one of the few times you can be completely in the dark on such a momentous occasion until you’re ready to find out. Here are a few ways to celebrate finding out with a gender reveal party or baby shower.

Invitations
Deciding on a cute play on words for your invitations won’t be hard – there are as many variations announcing the theme of your party as you can imagine. These are easy to do DIY, find on Etsy, already made or custom order.

Take Your Pick!
Once your guests arrive, greet them with fun games to cast their vote on whether you’re having a boy or a girl.

For a fun, casual game ask the mommy-to-be which in the list of old wives’ tales she’s experienced. Tally up the predictions and see if they’re right at the reveal!

The Big Reveal
Again, there are many, many ways to reveal to guests what you’re having. Often times, you will have to recruit someone else sworn to secrecy to incorporate the blue or pink into the reveal. If you’re thinking a cake with the color hidden inside, have the doctor write the baby’s sex on a slip of paper and give it to the bakery or person making the dessert.

Everybody likes to be a winner! Let guests scratch off their guess and see if they’re right.

Just as exciting – release balloons from a box on the count of three or release confetti from an opaque balloon or piñata. Bonus points if you get other siblings in on it!
