October Recipe from Chef Haberle- Garlic Pumpkin Seeds
What to do with all those pumpkin seeds you’ll be scooping out preparing to carve your pumpkin?
Try this easy microwave recipe! – Chef Haberle
Garlic Pumpkin Seeds
1 tablespoon canola oil
½ teaspoon celery salt
½ teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon Lawry’s seasoning salt
2 cups fresh pumpkin seeds
Procedure
- In a small bowl combine the oil, celery salt, garlic powder, and seasoning salt
- Rinse pumpkin seeds, shake off excess water then add to above tossing the seeds to coat them
- Spread a quarter of the seeds in a single layer on a microwave safe plate.
- Microwave on high for one minute; stir
- Microwave two to three minutes longer or until seeds are crunchy and lightly browned, stirring after each minute. Repeat with remaining pumpkin seeds. Serve warm, or cool before storing in an airtight container.
- Yield: 2 cups

Thanks for giving advice on making pumpkin seeds in a microwave oven. By using the seeds from carving pumpkins, one may take advantage of a healthy snack at no additional cost.
